My name is Sandy Heimdal.  I grew up in Canton, S.D.  I currently reside in Harrisburg. This is my 9th year of teaching. I graduated from Dakota State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Special Education.

I embrace teaching as an opportunity to inspire. As a teacher, it is my goal to enhance student learning as a transforming experience. I want students to feel changed by their time spent in the classroom.

I am married to a wonderful man who works with Smart Commercial Construction.  We have one beautiful little girl, Rhiannen.  She is five years old and started kindergarten this year.  She loves to make art projects and write books.  We also have a little boy, Briley.  He is two and a half years old and is always busy watching and learning with his sister.  He loves to work with his Papa on the farm.  We had a wonderful summer of playing!

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, going to movies, ice skating, fishing and four wheeling.
